Since I moved to New York last year I have found some amazing applications that save you a lot of money and help you find what NYC has to offer much faster and cheaper.

33 cents for a cocktail in NYC, yes it is possible

The first app I found was Hooch– this is a drinking app. You can get up to 31 drinks a month for $9.99. This app allows you to redeem one drink per day. There are plenty of participating venues and those are not only in NYC but in some other big cities as well. Check out their page to find out where else they operate.

I like this app since even if you are going to have 1 drink in a whole month you still save money:) You can discover new places and try out new coctails.

My favorite spots in NYC: Lovage Rooftop and Proper West.

They also have a great deal for recommending friends. If you recommend the app to someone and they will use your referal code when signing up, both you and they are getting 1 month of free drinks. If you want a free month for yourself use my code: 7783b6.

Get a lunch or dinner for less than $7 in NYC

Next app is a food app called MealPal. MealPal offers lunches under $6 and dinners under $6.5. After NYC tax for 20 lunches and 20 dinners I have paid $130.43 + $141.32= $271.75 I am currently on both plans and I have never been happier, I eat in a different places every day, try new cuisines and already have found some great spots. A couple of recommendations:

  1. Pascalou on Madison Ave – amazing french food in Upper East Side – try Chicken Paillard and Chicken Milanese
  2. Roast Kitchen – Moroccan Bowl w/ Sirloin Steak is my favorite
  3. Sandwicherie on 4th Ave
  4. SVK inside Bonmi on 23rd st
  5. Duke’s on 2nd Ave
  6. Wolfe Tone’s Irish Pub on 29th st – try their beef sliders
  7. GRK – Fresh Greek
  8. Bread and Tulips on Park Ave Sth
  9. Pergola on 28th st
  10. Maoz Vegetarian on Union Sq – try Hummus & Egg w/ Avocado

The reason I find MealPal a great deal is I do not waste time in line during lunch hour. I preorder my meals a day earlier and set a specific time I will pick it up from the restaurant. Very often they run a promotion for recommending new subscribers, during this time there is a referral link that needs to be used by a new subscriber and both referrer and new subscriber are getting $50 Amazon gift cards. I have already gotten some of those gift cards and always make sure to post an update in this post when it is happening. If you would like to get notified just subscribe to my blog 🙂

33 cents for a movie in a NYC movie theater

The latest app I have downloaded is MoviePass. It is a movie theater app that cost $9.95 a month and like Hooch allows you to watch 1 movie a day. This is so awesome I have just joined this program and watched 2 movies (Blade Runner and The Mountain Between Us). I am also picking different cinemas to find my favorite one:)

All you need to do is to pay for your subscription, wait for the magic card- it says it can take up to 3 weeks to arrive but I got mine within a week.

Next you need to download the app. Once you have the app on your phone and card in hand just pick a movie or theater and head to the movie. Once you are there select your movie and hour. Your MoviePass card will get the money needed for the transaction, so you can pay for your ticket. The two movies I watched were $15 and $16 each, but I only paid $10 for the app subscription so it is enough to even watch 1 movie a month to save money!

Hi, my name is Joanna, I started this blog in Jan 2017. I created posts about beauty, fashion, travel, rabbits, money blogging ect. Simply put: all the stuff I care about. After 10 months I realized my blog is not getting enough traffic so I dived into research. Till Oct 2017 I only had around 700 visitors on my blog per month. Then I implemented my Pinterest strategy and automated my pinning with my own build tool – PinMeApp. In Nov 2017 I got 3300 page views and then in Dec 2017 8500. That is how my app was born: PinMeApp. I wanted to help others grow traffic to their sites as well. Today I offer subscription for my app, but I also teach people my Pinterest strategy, step by step what I did to grow the traffic so fast, so this blog is now getting around 20k page views each month. I also offer Pinterest Management and implement my strategy for brands who want to reach their audience on Pinterest as well. My Pinterest account reaches over 5m people monthly. If you want such results feel free to contact me. Cheers, Joanna
